The couple who invited you decide what their guests are asked and who may see the answers, so they are responsible for your wedding information. Glenthea GmbH (glenthea.com) provides and runs the platform and handles that information on their behalf. Glenthea is separately responsible for the limited technical processing it does to run the service, keep it secure and prevent misuse, which is set out in our full Privacy Policy.
Your name and the contact details the couple hold for you (an email address, and a phone number if they have one) come from the couple, who entered them before you were invited. When you use the wedding card, what you send is stored too: your answer to the invitation and the answers you give for anyone else in your party, any dietary requirements or allergies you enter, and anything you add through the features the couple has switched on, such as a message, a song request, a game answer or a photo you upload to their photo wall. Glenthea also records limited technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device details and the time of a request, in order to run the platform and protect it.
Wedding information is used to handle your invitation and to help the couple organise and celebrate their wedding, for example catering counts, seating and keeping guests informed. Where European data protection law applies, this rests on the couple's legitimate interest in organising the wedding you were invited to. Technical information is used to run and secure Glenthea and to prevent misuse. Your information can be seen by the couple, by the service providers Glenthea uses to run the platform, and by any wedding supplier the couple choose to pass it to, such as a caterer or a venue.
Telling us about a dietary requirement or an allergy is optional, and you can leave the field empty. Details like these can say something about your health, so they are used only to plan the catering. Inside Glenthea they are shown to the couple, and the couple may pass them on to their caterer or venue so that your requirement can be met. If you would rather not enter them here, tell the couple directly instead.
These fields stay empty until you tick the box beside them. Ticking it is your explicit consent to store them, and un-ticking it deletes what was stored.
Your information is kept while the couple's wedding card is active, and is deleted when they delete the card or their account. You can ask for your own information to be removed sooner, and that request is handled individually. After deletion, copies can remain for a while in the encrypted backups kept only for disaster recovery; those expire within twelve months at the latest. The Privacy Policy sets out the full schedule.
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to the way it is used, to withdraw consent where the processing relies on consent, and to complain to a data protection authority.
